Nei giorni 4, 5 e 6 dicembre 2025, presso le sedi di Palazzo Bo e Palazzo Maldura, si svolgerà il convegno internazionale "Respecting the Past, Conserving the Future", organizzato dalle dottorande e dai dottorandi del XXXIX ciclo del Corso di Dottorato in Storia, Critica e Conservazione dei Beni Culturali dell'Università degli Studi di Padova.
Il convegno, giunto alla quinta edizione, si propone come occasione di confronto e condivisione sul tema della restituzione, intesa nelle sue molteplici prospettive di studio, analisi e comprensione dei patrimoni culturali. A partire da interventi di taglio disciplinare e interdisciplinare relativi agli ambiti archeologici, storico-artistici, musicali, del cinema e dello spettacolo, l’obiettivo è quello di riflettere sulla preservazione di memorie e identità, sul rispetto e la tutela dell’umano e delle sue testimonianze materiali e immateriali, come strumenti per una costruzione consapevole del presente e del futuro.

The PhD Course in History, Criticism and Conservation of Cultural Heritage of the University of Padua presents the international conference "Respecting the Past, Conserving the Future. Methodologies, narratives and perspectives for the restitution of cultural heritage", organised by the PhD students of the XXXIX cycle. The conference will be held in Padua on 4, 5 and 6 December 2025 at Palazzo Bo and Palazzo Maldura.
Now in its fifth edition, this meeting aims to promote discussions and sharing on the theme of restitution in its multiple perspectives of study, analysis and understanding of cultural heritage. Starting from disciplinary and interdisciplinary contributions in the fields of archaeology, history of art, music, film, and performance studies, the purpose is to reflect on the preservation of memories and identities, as well as on the respect and protection of human beings and their material and immaterial legacies, as essential tools for the conscious construction of both the present and the future.
